Jeremy Juliusz Sochan, pronounced "SOH-han," was born on May 20, 2003, in Southampton, England. The Polish-American forward attended Itchen College in Southampton and La Lumiere School in La Porte, Indiana. Sochan is known for his athleticism, defensive prowess, and versatility on the court.

Lessons from Sochan's High School Career

During his time at Itchen College, Sochan demonstrated his potential as a basketball player. He helped lead the team to a 10-1 record in senior year, showcasing his skills as a versatile forward. Despite his impressive performance, Sochan's size and lack of exposure limited his recruitment options.

Moving to the United States

In 2019, Sochan decided to move to the United States to pursue his basketball ambitions. He attended La Lumiere School, where he played under renowned coach Shane Burcar. Under Burcar's guidance, Sochan developed his game and gained recognition from college scouts.

College Career at Baylor University

Sochan committed to play basketball for Baylor University. As a freshman, he made an immediate impact, starting in 30 games and averaging 9.2 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game. In his sophomore year, he continued to improve, averaging 11.3 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game. Sochan played a key role in Baylor's second national championship victory in 2021.

Draft to NBA and San Antonio Spurs

Sochan declared for the 2022 NBA Draft and was selected by the San Antonio Spurs with the ninth overall pick. Since joining the Spurs, he has shown his potential as a versatile defender and scorer. Sochan has averaged 7.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game in his rookie season.
